About Xero
What is Xero, and what does it do?
Xero is cloud accounting software for small businesses. It is made and sold by Xero, not by us.
You use it in a web browser or the Xero mobile app to send invoices, match bank transactions, record expenses and receipts, submit VAT returns to HMRC and see how the business is doing.

Create and send invoices and quotes, and see which have been paid.
Bank reconciliation
Connect your business bank account so transactions arrive in Xero, ready to be matched to your records.
Expenses and receipts
Record expenses and capture the details from receipts and bills.

Does Xero work with Making Tax Digital?
Xero describes itself as HMRC-recognised software for Making Tax Digital. If you're VAT registered, you must keep some VAT records digitally, in software that connects to HMRC, unless you're exempt.
Sole traders and landlords whose qualifying income was over £50,000 in 2024/25 have had to use Making Tax Digital for Income Tax since 6 April 2026. The threshold falls to £30,000 from 6 April 2027 and £20,000 from 6 April 2028. Your accountant can tell you which rules apply to you and when.

Do you work with Xero?
Yes. We're a Xero partner, and Xero is one of the three cloud accounting packages we work in. The other two are QuickBooks and FreeAgent.
I already use Xero. Do I have to change software?
No. If you already use Xero, you can keep it when you move to us.
Which accounting software do you prefer?
QuickBooks is our preferred software, and we're a QuickBooks Elite ProAdvisor firm. We also work with Xero and FreeAgent, so tell us what you use when you ask for a quote.
Can you do my bookkeeping in Xero?

Where do I log in to Xero?
On Xero's own log-in page, login.xero.com. Your Xero account is managed by Xero, so use Xero's log-in page to reset a password.
Do I need to be on the Wirral?
No. We're based in Bromborough and work with businesses across the UK by phone, Zoom, WhatsApp and our client app. Our office is open 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
