We're based in Bromborough, Wirral, and look after small businesses, landlords and the self-employed across the UK. The practice was established over 30 years ago, and every client still gets their own named accountant.
Who we are
Who are Wainwrights Accountants?
Wainwrights Accountants is an accountancy practice at Faversham House on Wirral International Business Park in Bromborough, established over 30 years ago. We specialise in small, owner-managed businesses (sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and landlords) on the Wirral and across the UK.
We still think of ourselves as a young practice. We keep moving to newer accounting software and better ways of working, because it makes your accounts quicker to do and easier to understand.
You can meet us face to face in Bromborough, over the phone or on Zoom. Day to day, you can reach us on WhatsApp or through our client app.
The team
Who will look after your accounts?
You get one named accountant, backed by the whole team. Andy Wainwright is our managing director, Jamie Cartledge, Liam Davies and Mark Jones are our senior accountants, and Kelly Hutchinson runs payroll.

Nearly two decades at the helm of Wainwrights, with a background that isn't textbook accountancy. Andy was previously a director in the high-end fashion industry. He specialises in business strategy and legal compliance, helping clients grow, stay protected, and make confident financial decisions.
Outside the office: proud dad, lifelong Liverpool FC fan, and a bit of a golf obsessive.
Jamie Cartledge
Senior accountant

A highly qualified accountant with over a decade of experience, specialising in tax: self-assessments, corporation tax, and helping business owners plan ahead to save more and stress less.
Outside the office: the gym, and cheering on Liverpool FC.
Liam Davies
Senior accountant
Part of the Wainwrights team since 2016. With a background in legal finance, Liam brings a calm, methodical approach to accounts, tax queries and year-end.
Outside the office: five-a-side football, learning golf, and following Everton and Manchester City.
Mark Jones
Senior accountant
Brings a wealth of experience to the team, with a steady hand and a practical mindset supporting clients through everything from year-end accounts to business tax planning.
Outside the office: five-a-side football and a proud Tranmere Rovers supporter.
Kelly Hutchinson
Payroll specialist
Wainwrights' go-to expert for all things payroll: accurate, compliant payslips delivered on time, however complex the payroll. From pensions to the latest HMRC updates, Kelly takes the pressure off business owners.
Outside the office: a lifelong tennis fan, watching Wimbledon or playing a few sets herself.
Fiona Pickard
Office administrator
Keeps the wheels turning at Wainwrights, often the first point of contact for clients and the friendly face behind the scenes.
Outside the office: cycling with friends, often abroad.
Jack Swift
Accounts assistant
A rising star on the team, known for his eagerness to learn and sharp attention to detail, supporting senior accountants with financial statements and day-to-day bookkeeping.

Andy Wainwright's background
Andy Wainwright has led Wainwrights Accountants as Managing Director since 2006. Before that he spent eight years as a director at Tessuti, the designer fashion retailer. In 2018 he founded Engager.app, the practice management software we use for our own client portal and app.

Small, owner-managed businesses are what we do best: sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, landlords and construction businesses under CIS, the Construction Industry Scheme. Some clients are a short drive from our Bromborough office, and others work with us remotely from elsewhere in the UK.

How we work
What is it like to work with us?
You get your own accountant, cloud software that shows your figures as they happen, and reminders before every deadline. You can message us on WhatsApp or through our client app, and the office is open 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
